QUESTIONS

We are going to be putting all of the questions we've been asked and you'll see the answers below so y'all can look at it.
Click on the question for the answer to be displayed.
1. Should you bring money?
Yes - there will be merch and a New Frontiers store open for you to purchase.
2. Should you bring your own linens?
YES! For a Twin Mattress! You can bring sheets and a blanket or just a sleeping bag. You need to bring your own pillow too.
3. Can you bring snacks?
Yes, you can bring snacks for your cabin and your day backpack. Please do not bring anything with peanuts.
4. What if my child needs to come home?
Every situation is unique and we want to make sure every camper feels safe and comfortable at camp. In the event that a child is homesick, we will first phone the parents to make sure they get to speak with them. From there, we'll reassess to see if the child needs to go home or if they just needed to have some time with their parents on FaceTime. We will honor whatever the parents decide to do!
5. When are shower times?
Each cabin will be designated their own shower time to ensure all kids are getting their appropriate time and space. We kindly ask that no child skips a shower.
6. What are the condition of the bathrooms?
Let's just be clear in saying, you're at camp y'all and not the Four Seasons lol. The bathrooms are cleaned two times a day and have been renovated at the beginning of this year. With that said, we still strongly encourage you to bring a shower caddy and shower shoes.
7. Can you bring a noise machine for your cabin?
Talk about it with your cabin mates to make sure you're all on the same page. Bring ear plugs if you're worried about sound.
8. Is there a phone policy?
Yes! You can check it out below.
9. What should you bring upon check-in?
1. linens for a twin bed + pillow in a trash bag, labeled with your name and cabin color
2. luggage (one luggage item per kid)
3. 2 signed waivers
4. reference the packing list to make sure you get everything!
10. What is the Dress Code?
With the constantly changing trends in fashion, we should dress modestly and appropriately. These principles apply to both sexes.  Please read our guidelines below.

1) Appropriate and modest clothing must be worn for all events such as general session, breakouts, free time and all other activities.

Examples of what NOT to pack are:

- Crop tops or spaghetti strap tops, (tank tops are great but please try your best not to show mid-drift) muscle shirts (this is a super revealing tank top where we can see your chest/stomach), short shorts (please pack shorts that are below fingertips), clothing with offensive language or promoting persons, bands, or products which are offensive
- No weapons of any kind, including pepper spray, knives etc. will be permitted
- No gum (this is New Frontier's request)

2) All clothing is subject to HopeUC Nashville staff approval. If a staff member feels that an article of clothing is inappropriate, he or she will ask the student to change.

HopeUC Nashville Youth Camp's Code of Conduct

Here at HopeUC Nashville, we are about joining God in transforming students into passionate followers of Jesus.
These boundaries listed help us ensure that this value is met.
1. Phone Usage
Campers will be allowed to bring their phones but we are asking campers to leave their phones in the cabins during all meals, day sessions, games, worship, bible study, elements, and night sessions. We want the campers to be as engaged as possible and by encouraging the phones to stay in the cabin, we will make room for what God has in store for them with minimal distractions. If parents need to get a hold of their children during the day, they can message their child's cabin leader. For more information on our Phone Policy, scroll down.

2. Pictures / Video Disclaimer
Camp Leaders will have permission to take pictures of kids outside of the cabin but not inside the cabin. Campers will have the ability to take pictures on their own devices at their leisure. No phones whatsoever will be permitted in the bathrooms. We will have a HopeUC Nashville approved photographer and videographer capture footage throughout the entire camp but will follow the same guidelines as our camp leaders.

3. Behavior Standard
a) We ask students to respect all adults, students, and church/camp property. We also ask students to avoid language or actions that are inappropriate or hurtful to others.
b) We have a zero tolerance policy for physical violence. Parents will be called and you will be sent home immediately.
c) No camper is allowed to be in the cabin or bathrooms of the opposite sex.
d) Alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, firearms, knives, or weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
e) All student medications must be checked in and registered with Desiree & Randall.

4. Hygiene / Showers
We kindly ask that you please talk to your kids about the importance of hygiene - we are all in close quarters in the cabins and if kids skip showers or don’t wear deodorant it makes things a little unpleasant for those around them. We have a shower schedule that will be given to the cabins upon arrival. We ask no child skips a shower.

PHONE POLICY

These rules are put into place to help every camper disconnect from distractions and fully engage with camp life, we have the following internet and communication guidelines in place:
 Wi-Fi Access
  • Only camp leaders will be given the Wi-Fi password
  • Campers will NOT be given the password
  • This helps maintain a safe, focused, and distraction-free environment for all students.

Parental Communication
  • Parents will be provided with direct phone numbers for their child’s cabin leaders before camp begins.
  • If you’d like to check in during the week, feel free to text your child’s leader directly. We are happy to update you as best we can. Please know that we will always get back to you on the same day; but may not be able to get back to you immediately.
  • In the event there is an emergency with your child, we will contact you immediately.
  • If there is an emergency at home and you need contact with your child, please text ‘EMERGENCY’ and we’ll get to you asap.

 Camper Updates to Parents
  • We will put a message out on the HopeUC Nashville Youth Parents Chat every morning

Why We Do This
Camp is a unique opportunity for students to disconnect from screens and connect with God, each other, and themselves. Thank you for partnering with us to create a distraction-free, life-changing camp experience!

Camper Phone Usage Guidelines
We know staying in touch with home is important, and we also want to help you stay fully present for all the fun, connection, and God-moments happening at camp.

Here's when you’re allowed to use your phone:
  • Morning: Phone time is allowed before breakfast.
  • Afternoon: We highly encourage you to leave your phones in the cabins and don't touch em!!!
  • Night: You may use your phone after evening activities in your cabins in your own bunk, not in pairs.

Important Reminders
  • No phones allowed during games, activities, sessions, or meals.
  • If a phone is used outside the approved times, leaders will either:
    1. Hold it safely in their backpack until the next phone time, or
    2. Return it to the cabin for safekeeping — whichever is easiest in the moment.

Thanks for helping us make camp a place where we focus on faith, friendships, and real-life fun!
