Join us for a tour of the property and to meet a few of our pastors directly after service. This is for families that have been attending HopeUC for 3 months or less.

Discussion Guide

Leaders, please add context for those individuals that may not have done the activities in the book this past month. You can even walk through and show some of the activities to start. The heart behind this time is to connect and encourage! We want to share in this month's victories and lift each other up if there is discouragement.

QUESTIOn #1:

THE TABLE. What image or impression does the phrase “the table” stir in your mind. How does coming to a dining table or coffee table relate to your life?
Share any meaningful stories that you remember.

QUESTION #2:

We are connecting “coming to the table” with the biblical ministry of reconciliation and being the Church.
How does this work?
Read 2 Cor. 5:16-20 and discuss.

QUESTION #3:

How is reconciliation, both to God and others, meaningful to you and how has it affected or changed your life? 
Read Matt. 5:23-24 and discuss.

Hope at Home Suggested Flow

This is not the final order, more so showing you the items we'd like you to include in your time together.

  • Breakfast- begins around 9:30 am

  • Worship- 10:00 am or when most group members have arrived and will continue for about 20 minutes or so (YouTube link available if you do not have a worship leader in your home this Sunday)

  • Offering-  Keep this short, simple and sweet, reminding people they can utilize the church center app to give. There will not be a video. Pray and bless the church offering as a group.

  • Discussion

  • Prayer Time

  • Communion - If you need help with communion elements, please let us know.

For Groups With Kids

Please remember that children are never to be left unsupervised. If you have a large group of kids, we ask that 2 adults be present with them wherever they are (bonus room, playing outside etc.) We also ask that the door always be left open and no playing in bedrooms. If younger kiddos need help with the bathroom, please let their parents know. Lastly, we need to keep a "one at time" house rule for the bathroom, please.

If you need some kid friendly supplies sent to your home for this month and next month please let us know. Play-Doh, coloring books, paper/notebooks, color pencils, bubbles if you have kids that play outside etc. If you have any other simple, budget friendly ideas please let us know!

Starting in January, we will have a specific kids guide/lesson for each month. We will also be introducing a children’s ministry role for each home group. This role will be managing the rotation of two adults each month being with the kids as well as picking up kids supplies at the church or receiving them if we send them out. This role will NOT be having to watch the kids etc. every month but more helping us implement a rotation/program in your group.
